Lawyer: Mom Said She Would Return 2 Kids To GA

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — An attorney in Georgia says a woman arrested in the deaths of her two children in California had promised to return them to their father on Sunday.

Lawyer Marian Weeks says her client, Mark Edge, received full custody of his children, 9-year-old Faith and 13-year-old Jaelen, last week in a contentious divorce case.

Weeks says 42-year-old Marilyn Edge sent a text to her ex-husband on Friday saying she would bring the kids back to Georgia.

She was arrested Saturday after she told police they could find her children at an Orange County hotel. Police found her apparently suicidal after crashing her car.

Authorities have not released a cause of death. No charges have been filed but Marilyn Edge is expected to make her first court appearance Tuesday.
